Simon & Christophe, together at last! Scaredsim and CarboHydroM teamed up for this energetic rock take on MGS/MGS2; Simon writes:

'CarboHydroM and Scaredsim finally united their power to come up with another crazy full Frenchie remix! This was our entry for Dwelling of Duels Free Month of July 2011. I made the piano intro, synth tracks, and some acoustic guitar lead part. He made the guitars, bass, drums, production.. oh wait, everything else. We both wrote the arrangement though. :) So if you like MGS, CHM's epicness and Scaredsim's coolness, this track is for you!'

'This is really really good stuff, not every transition worked for me, and I have a feeling that CHM produced that snare, but this is the kind of stuff I love hearing. Great synthwork and guitar playing, and a good, balanced sound. It's almost as good as my Metal Gear song, keep practicing!

Judges felt that both guitars & drums could be a little crisper and more aggressively mixed (i.e. 'hot'), but no one thought it was a dealbreaker. Flexstyle summarizes:

Ditto, ditto, and ditto. Of course, having been submitted two years after the compo it was made for and then going through the submission process, both artists have almost certainly upped their already formidable games in the meantime, but this is still a beyond-solid track that invigorates some classic MGS melodies with style & craft. Serving as ample counterevidence to the conventional wisdom that one should 'never go full Frenchie,' kudos to Simon & Christophe for a great collab!
